Fitou
The Fitou vineyards boast the best terroirs of the massif des Corbieres. The location is very original; to the east is Maritime Fitou skirting the lagoon of Leucate - a place of stones, dryness and wind and to the west is the inland sector, sheltered by Mont Tauch and divided into two basins.
Fitou was the first officially recognised Languedoc appellation. Today it only produces red wine from the Carignan grape, which is originally from Spain and so in its element here. Provided yields can be kept low, mature Carignan vines can give superb results.
