Slope Information

Another French spa town that has diversified into winter sports, Saint Lary combines classic architecture and thermal baths with modern purpose-built ski convenience and one of the largest ski circuits in the Pyrenees.

Situated at 800m in the Aure valley and just 150km from Toulouse airport, Saint Lary consists of the old town and two high altitude ski stations: Pla D’Adet at 1700m and Espiaube at 1900m. There is a choice of either riding the cable car or driving up to the ski area, and once there a fully linked circuit of over 100kms of varied terrain awaits.

The skiing is mainly above the treeline and boasts a wide variety of mainly red and blue runs that extend over the Soum de Matte and into the Auron valley. An efficient network of lifts including a gondola and some high-speed chairs whisk the rider effortlessly around the sunny terrain and up to some of the highest skiing in the French Pyrenees on Mount Pichaleye at 2600m. Try the Mirabelle run at Espiaube, it’s one of the longest and most exhilarating pistes in the French Pyrenees. The 24 blue, 14 red and nine black runs will keep the keenest snow sports enthusiast busy for a week and these are complimented by the Quicksilver Snowpark, slalom and mogul stadiums.

The area is covered by 183 artificial snow cannons, for times when nature needs a helping hand, and combined with the high altitude it’s no wonder that Saint Lary boasts a season from early December through to April. The whole area offers enough skiing and boarding to keep a mixed ability group very happy for a week and represents an excellent, cost effective alternative to the big Alpine ski circuits.

Saint Lary 1700, Pla d’Adet sector: Family skiing including snow kindergarten, toboggan run and ‘Kidpark’, a fun snow sports park for budding skiers aged 6 to 12 yrs.
SAINT LARY 1900, Espiaube: Dedicated to the more experienced skier with the showpiece Mirabelle run descending 700 metres over its 3.6 Km length.
SAINT LARY 2400: Quicksilver Snowpark complete with PA system which doubles as a skate park in the summer, mogul and slalom stadiums and also provides access to Lake Oule for delightful snow-shoe rambles accessible from the lakeside chairlift.
