Giving Up The Day Job!
The Mulcare Family Head For the Mountains
Have you ever dreamed of giving up the day job and heading out to the Pyrenees to set up a family business?
The Mulcare family from Sussex have done exactly that, and now after a year of hard work and determination, they will be opening their doors for business starting 22 December.
Mulcares in the Pyrenees will provide affordable luxury apartments all year round in the picturesque town of Cauterets; the thermal spa resort and mountain-sports playground for skiing, walking and climbing.
The Mulcare family spans three generations and the day to day running of the business is managed by Louise, James and Ruth Mulcare. Inspired by the grandeur of the mountains and a whole new fresh skiing and walking experience, the three of them in their thirties have given up the rat race in London and Sussex to start a new life deep in the heart of the Pyrenees. Their parents have also left Sussex to enjoy a healthy and active retirement in Cauterets and Louise’s six year old son Alex is loving his new French school and friends.
The Mulcares have restored a beautiful old building, in the charming old town quarter of Cauterets, mixing many of its original features with modern luxuries to provide seven new self catering apartments. Bringing a new level of comfort and quality to Cauterets, the apartments are stylishly and comfortably fitted out with all mod cons and range from a large three bedroom apartment sleeping 6 – 8 people to a studio apartment for 2 people. Each apartment also has a private balcony overlooking the beautiful river and surrounding mountains.
Providing more than just accommodation, Louise, James and Ruth are also on hand to help you organise your holiday activities in their Salle de Gave welcome room and riverside terrace. Keeping the British tradition of teatime very much alive in the mountains, you can also drop by at 4pm each day to enjoy complimentary tea and cake and meet the other guests, or even ask the Mulcares about their new life in the Pyrenees.
So if you’re curious to see what can happen when you give up the day job and take a great leap into the unknown, or if you’re thinking of brushing the dust off your skis again then check out Mulcares in the Pyrenees on this site or see www.mulcares.com for more details. If you’re planning a Pyrenees holiday further ahead such as trekking/walking, climbing, mountain biking or white-water rafting after the winter, the Mulcares will be more than happy to help organise your summer holidays too.
Special offer:
If you tell the Mulcares you’ve seen their details on ePyrenees.com when you book a holiday with them, you will receive a free Welcome Food Package. Your apartment kitchen will be stocked with some food and drink essentials ready for when you first arrive including fresh milk, eggs, orange juice, fresh bread, butter/spread, jam, coffee, tea and a bottle of red wine.
